It’s gonna be entirely too hot for the next week – August 12, 2026

It’s going to be way, way too hot for this weather girl’s liking over the next week. So hot it could be dangerous for some folks.

TL;DR version of this post: It’s going to be really hot and oppressive. Sensitive groups need to stay indoors. If outdoors, please take lots of breaks, stay in the shade, and hydrate!

We are currently under a Heat Advisory that runs from now until Friday night (but don’t be surprised if that is extended given the temps for the weekend). High’s are going to be mid to upper 90’s for the rest of the week and into the weekend, with a couple of days getting very close to 100.

Instead of breaking down every single day, just know that from Wednesday through at least Monday, our temps could be 95-99 degrees, with heat indices in the 105-115 range every single day, with no rain in sight to help cool things off until maybe Tuesday. Our overnight lows are going to drop to the mid to upper 70’s, so not much relief at night either.

This is a rough spell of heat for those who work outdoors, have kiddos in sports outdoors, those who don’t have adequate cooling, and sensitive populations. It’s important to try to keep and stay cool and stay hydrated.

Our next chance of rain and heat relief may come Tuesday, but that’s a bit far off for this blog. Until then, stay cool and hydrated and limit time outdoors.
